Launch of WasteAid’s Circular Economy Network in South Africa
Online 3 December 11.00-12.30 SAST (09.00-10.30 GMT)
The growing WasteAid team is delighted to invite you to the launch of its Circular Economy Network in South Africa.
This is the first of a series of webinars to share best practice and innovation in resource recovery and job creation in low to middle income countries.
Our focus on 3 December will be an introduction to the exciting new partnership between global food packaging supplier Huhtamaki, and WasteAid – the international NGO sharing waste management and recycling skills around the world.
WasteAid’s Circular Economy Network will connect businesses, designers, environmental champions, and policymakers to cultivate opportunities for sustainable and inclusive resource management.
Each of the target cities will benefit from an online hub, on-the-ground training, showcase events, and ultimately a competition to find two entrepreneurs / innovators who will each receive funding of up to €10,000 to pilot or scale their circular economy enterprise.
Starting with three major cities, Johannesburg (South Africa), Ho Chi Minh (Vietnam) and Guwahati (Assam, India), WasteAid is striving to build a global community that can transcend borders and sectors to overcome the connected challenges of poverty, pollution and climate change.
This exciting WasteAid initiative will connect corporate donors with inspired entrepreneurs to accelerate progress towards reuse and materials recovery.
