A letter of gratitude to… our Proud Partners, Biffa
Dear Biffa colleagues,
We are writing to say a big thank you to all of you who have been involved in the Proud Partnership with WasteAid this year. 2019 has been pivotal for WasteAid, and Biffa has played a crucial role in our story.
In giving our waste management charity financial and technical support, Biffa has enabled WasteAid to get on a sounder financial footing and look to the future with greater confidence. Your support has also leveraged further corporate sponsorship, because businesses trust Biffa to have made a good decision in partnering with us.
Being able to host Dean Willett in Kenya meant that hundreds of Biffa’s people have been able to hear first-hand what it’s like to live somewhere with no waste management and the human and environmental value of WasteAid’s work.
Your PR and marketing strengths have helped us reach much larger audiences than we ever could alone, with an exciting launch event on Brighton beach, television interviews and professional campaign collateral for our fundraising appeals.
Your employees have been incredibly supportive, offering their technical expertise to help set up the Gambia’s first ever municipal waste collection round, and generous personal donations and fundraising efforts to support plastics recycling training programmes in the Gambia and Cameroon.
Biffa’s people have leant their expertise in event management and recruitment, supporting the Walk for WasteAid in Manchester and helping us move to the next level of organisational growth. We are not exaggerating when we say our Proud Partnership has been game-changing, and we are still in year 1!
We’re excited to see how much more we can amplify Biffa’s positive impact around the world. In supporting programmes for safer and sustainable waste management, you are directly helping fight poverty, global plastic pollution and climate change, while creating dignified livelihood opportunities.
2020 will bring a host of opportunities to cement our Proud Partnership, including supporting the plastics recycling training centre in Cameroon, our one-year celebrations on 1 May, the Walk for WasteAid in Bristol on 20 June and more exciting events in the summer.
For everything that Biffa has done for WasteAid, and everything you have committed to for the coming months, we’d like to say a huge heartfelt thank you.
Have a lovely Christmas,
Zoë, Mike and the WasteAid team
