WasteAid Photography Competition “The Wonders of Waste”
Do you see beauty in waste?
WasteAid is launching its first photography competition, with the theme “The Wonders of Waste”.
Waste materials, recycled products, and even recycling processes can be beautiful. This is your chance to inspire everyone with your artistic take on waste as a resource.
Your photo might capture people working with waste, some visually interesting machinery, a collection of materials, or even an interesting object made from waste.
When waste isn’t managed properly it is unsightly and unhealthy. The WasteAid photography competition is a celebration of waste materials as a thing of beauty and potential.
WasteAid Head of Communications, Zoë Lenkiewicz, said, “People around the world bring wonderfully creative ideas and ingenuity to their work with waste, and that’s what we’d like to celebrate with the WasteAid photography competition and calendar.”
Zoë added, “We’d like to inspire people to see waste through a different lens. A lot of our problems with waste stem from our perceptions of it. To fix the waste problem we need to start by changing how we look at it.”
An exhibition of the winning entries will take place at RWM exhibition, 12-13 September, NEC Birmingham UK.
Winners will be selected through an independent judging process and will be notified by email. The 12 winning photos will feature in the WasteAid calendar 2019, and all winners will receive a free calendar.
The first, second and third entries will also win prizes of £100, £50 and £30 (GBP).
