The Walk for Waste 2017 is almost upon us.
A team of WasteAid supporters will be meeting in Wasdale on Saturday afternoon for a hike to the top of England’s highest peak, Scafell Pike. After enjoying a break for sunset, the hike back down to the bottom will be by head torch. It’s not for the faint-hearted, and will be worth every penny the team raises for WasteAid!
We are really pleased with the sponsorship pledges we have so far, and we’re hoping for a last minute surge in support over at our JustGiving page! If you’re not taking part in the Walk for Waste and would like to sponsor the team, click on Donate or choose a participant and sponsor them directly.
Funds raised will be used to support the work WasteAid does with communities that have no waste management. Waste accumulating in the environment is reaching crisis point in many parts of the world, and people everywhere are waking up to the need to do something. Sharing simple waste management and recycling skills can go a long way to keeping the planet clean. It’s an affordable, transferable and effective tool for keeping waste out of the oceans, protecting health (particularly of children) and providing jobs where they are most needed.
We would like to thank EVERYONE who has supported WasteAid since our inception in 2015 – we have made a great deal of progress, and with your help, we can do a lot more.
