The Deer Shed Festival has announced that WasteAid will be its official charity partner.

Taking place at Baldersby Park, Topcliffe, North Yorkshire on 20-22 July 2018, the family festival will this year be more sustainable than ever. As part of its evolving programme, Deer Shed is introducing a ban on the sale of single use plastic bottles and straws at #DeerShed9 with the support of official 2018 charityWasteAid UK.

WasteAid UK was set up by waste management professionals to share practical and low-cost waste management know-how with communities in low-income countries.

Deer Shed organisers always tried to make the festival sustainable, from using recycled materials in workshops to selling drinks in reusable goblets and donating leftover food, and this is likely to be their most important step forward yet.

Please ensure you bring re-usable water bottles with you, which can be filled up at one of our many standpipes. We’ll be selling reusable bottles, just in case you do forget.

The #DrasticOnPlastic campaign is bring run by our friends at Association of Independent Festivals.
