Wastepreneur Programme
Empowering Green Entrepreneurs to Tackle Waste and Build Sustainable Livelihoods
The Challenge
In many low-income communities, waste is a crisis—but also an opportunity. Millions of people are already working informally in waste collection and recycling, yet lack access to training, infrastructure, and markets that could help them turn waste into a stable livelihood.
Our Solution: The Wastepreneur Programme
WasteAid provides training, mentoring, and investment opportunities to grassroots entrepreneurs—Wastepreneurs—who transform waste into valuable products. By supporting these micro-businesses, we help reduce pollution, create jobs, and build a circular economy from the ground up.
How It Works
- Bespoke Training: Three months of practical waste management and business skills training.
- Mentoring & Support: Participants receive guidance from successful local wastepreneurs.
- Micro-Investments: Graduates can pitch for funding to help grow their businesses.
- Community Integration: The programme works best alongside waste collection infrastructure and local authority partnerships.
